Dr. Rishav Kansal MD
Dr. Rishav Kansal founded Kansal Eye, PLLC in 2015. The clinic already had rich history, as it was founded by Jerry B Cotner MD in the late 1960s. Dr. Kansal was born in Pennsylvania, and after spending his youth in Pennsylvania and Delaware, his family moved to California.
Dr. Kansal completed his undergraduate studies in Human Biology at University of California, San Diego (2006) with Honors. He then completed his medical school education at Temple University School of Medicine (2011). He completed his Internship at Mercy Catholic Hospital in Darby, PA (2012). He then completed his Ophthalmology Residency at Temple University Hospital (2015).

As a general ophthalmologist, Dr. Kansal sees patients for routine eye exams, glasses and contacts, diabetic screenings, glaucoma evaluation, cataract screening, and dry eye treatment. In addition to this, he does ophthalmic surgery including cataract surgery, pterygium excision, and glaucoma surgery, and several different laser procedures.
Dr. Kansal is happily married with two children. His wife, also a physician, is employed at the Dallas VA and UTSW where she teaches residents and fellows. Dr Kansal enjoys a wide variety of activities including hiking, martial arts, tennis, and cooking.
Dr. Valeria Quiñones OD
Dr. Valeria Quiñones earned her Doctorate of Optometry from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Optometry in 2022.
Dr. Quiñones has developed a strong foundation in comprehensive vision exams, eye disease management, and patient education. Dr. Quiñones provides detailed examinations for patients with glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, dry eye, double vision, and pre/post operative care for cataract, laser and several ocular surgeries. With a passion for helping others achieve optimal eye health, Dr. Quiñones is committed to delivering personalized, compassionate care.
Outside of the office, she enjoys reading, cycling, and learning new languages. She if fluent in Spanish and English.
Your Visit
Appointment Time
Appointment times vary depending on the purpose of the visit; however, you can expect your visit to take approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours for a complete exam. Also your eyes will be dilated. If you have any questions prior to your appointment, please feel free to call our office.
Referrals
If you participate with an insurance plan that requires a referral, please have the referral forwarded or bring it with you to your appointment. Your insurance company will not be responsible for your bill without a referral.
